i had the pleasure of being hired for a lid job by the edisto beach state park in south carolina. this is on their touch tank located at the environmental learning center. stop by if you’re in the area.

I’ve been making plastic mesh screen tops BEFORE ANYONE ELSE! I use 3/8″ clear plastic and 1/4″ clear mesh netting. Cutouts and feed doors are available upon request. If you have plastic trim on your tank, the lid will sit on the inside ledge of the trim. If you have a rimless tank, the lid will sit on 2″ tabs on the tank rim and the lid will sit down inside the tank approx. 1/4″. I can build lids for just about any tank out there including the popular manufacturers such as: Red Sea, Innovative Marine, Planet Aquarium, Waterbox Aquariums, SC Aquariums, Deep Blue Aquariums and Biocubes (Coralife, JBJ, Oceanic…). I also build lids for custom built glass and acrylic tanks.

*** I have never licensed my lids to any other company. If you see someone else making plastic, screen aquarium lids they are infringing on my intellectual property.

Each tank has a different flow rate. So how does it make sense to use one style of filter sock “silencer”? It doesn’t. That’s why i created an adjustable suppressor plate!
⁣
Two 1/8″ discs are clamped together and rotate so you can dial it in for your optimal flow:noise ratio. Please be aware that these type of devices can restrict flow.

Your corals need light…. DUH. Why would you use containers that do not let light pass through?

Corals get most of their nutrients from algae that lives inside of them (zooxanthellae), just like a lot of anemones. This algae uses light as a food source, so why would you put your corals in a container that restricts light? You shouldn’t. Save 3d printing for the RFG nozzle.
